Southside San Antonio continues to impress, inspire new homebuyers

San Antonio is one of the hottest cities in the nation, and Southside San Antonio is the hottest part of town with incredible growth on the horizon. That growth is due in part to new homes on the Southside, the “redevelopment of the San Antonio River's southern leg, and the designation of the Spanish colonial missions as UNESCO World Heritage sites,” said the San Antonio Express-News. They’re just a few of the reasons the newspaper outlined in their in-depth look at South San Antonio as part of their 18-month exploration of how “Bexar County will accommodate the 1.1 million new residents expected to move here by 2040.” Among their findings:

More new retail, Southside's first charter school, coming to Brooks City Base

Brooks City Base is already the most talked about and highly anticipated amenity in San Antonio, and as interest continues to grow in the Southside development and redevelopment project, so too does its offerings. The most recent news is the addition of a new charter school—the first charter school on the Southside—plus more exciting retail options including the possibility of “restaurants and potentially banks and a medical office,” said the Bexar Witness. The charter school coming to Brooks City Base is KIPPSan Antonio, which already “operates six schools on four other campuses elsewhere around town. A location at Brooks would be KIPP’s first campus in South San Antonio.”
