There are always events in San Antonio, and this month, you can keep busy with events including festivals, cultural outings, live music, comedy, and Halloween-themed events practically every night of the week.

Live music

October is a huge month for concerts in San Antonio, with big acts spanning nearly every type of music coming to town:

If you’re looking to laugh, you’ll want to make sure you hit the Majestic Theatre on Friday, Oct. 30 for the Latin Kings of Comedy, featuring:


It’s been nine years in the making, and now the San Antonio Missions Inscribing as a World Heritage site is here. This celebration on Saturday, Oct. 17 will be held at Mission San Jose and will feature international, national, state and local leaders in attendance.

On Friday, Oct. 16, the public is invited to Mission Concepcion for the World Heritage Laser Light Show. This free event will also feature music, food trucks, and kids activities.


An annual fall favorite event, Luminaria is a contemporary art festival taking place on Friday and Saturday, Oct 23–24. Luminaria features multiple art forms—art, music, poetry, performance, and light shows—in several downtown San Antonio venues.

Celebrate Day of the Dead like only San Antonio can, with art, live music, workshops, and entertainment on Saturday, Oct. 24 and Sunday, Oct. 25 at La Villita Historic Arts Village.

Halloween celebrations

A number of venues throughout San Antonio feature Halloween-themed events throughout October. Fright Fest at Six Flags Fiesta Texas features live shows, haunted houses, and scary roller coasters after 5pm until closing every day from Saturday, Oct. 3 to Sunday, Nov. 1.

Howl-O-Scream turns SeaWorld San Antonio into a frightening and entertaining spot from Saturday, Oct. 3 to Saturday, Oct. 31, with haunted houses, roaming creatures, and live shows including “Unearthed – Scarlett’s Revenge,” produced and directed by The Blair Witch Project filmmaker Robin Cowie.
