The Mitchell Lake Audubon Center’s Christmas Bird Count Children’s Event January 3 • 8 a.m. to Noon

This beloved spot for taking in nature offers a fun and educational way for kids to wrap up the holidays. Come out on January 3 from 8 a.m. to noon for Binocular Boot Camp, an opportunity to spot as many birds as possible and even learn some bird calls.


 

Mariachi Concert at the Aztec Theater December 11 • 7:30 p.m.

Celebrate the life of Mariachi los Camperos leader Nati Cano with a mariachi concert featuring some of the finest Mexican and American musicians. Performance will be at 7:30 p.m. on December 11 at the Aztec Theater. Purchase tickets at ARTS San Antonio’s website: www.artssa.org/fiesta_navidad_los_camperos/


Free Sundays at the Institute of Texan Cultures December 14 • 1-3 p.m.

Admission is free on Sunday, Dec. 14 from 1-3 p.m., when the ITC and Our Lady of Guadalupe Church present “Los Pastores,” a classic play about Mary and Joseph’s journey to Bethlehem. A workshop with the troupe is available for families, and every child isn attendance will get a copy of “Rosita’s Christmas Wish” by Mary Ann Smothers Bruni.


Community Beautification Underway

As many of you will notice, a comprehensive community beautification is underway. To date the efforts have focused deficient grounds maintenance, cleaning up greenways and common areas. Fences facing Del Lago Parkway and Clubhouse have been repaired, pressure washed, and stained. We look forward to making the community a better place for all to enjoy. Improvements Nearing Completion: • Replanting along Del Lago Parkway and Clubhouse (irrigation system repairs currently underway) • New entry feature at Del Lago Parkway entrance to community We look forward to making the community a better place for all to enjoy.

SummerFest a Great Success

SummerFest brought out friends and neighbors for a great time, and we couldn’t be happier to see so many homeowners enjoying themselves in the community. Adventurers lined up to show off their athleticism on the climbing wall, there was tasty barbecue to savor, and everyone had a good time mingling with old friends and making new ones. Stay tuned for information on future community events!


National Night Out

National Night Out was another opportunity for new neighbors and community members to come together for a great cause. National Night Out is an annual “neighborhood crime and drug prevention” sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch, and brought out a strong Mission del Lago presence. HOA Update

As many of you know, a new property management company was contracted in August to manage the Mission del Lago Homeowners Association. RealManage, is a well-respected management company, managing community associations across 11 states. RealManage has over 12 years of experience and knowledge of governance, maintenance and communication requirements in master-planned communities. This change is an important one to ensure proper maintenance of the common areas, budgets and oversee the governance of the Homeowners Association. Initial focus for RealManage is to identify and resolve deficient community maintenance, adherence to community Covenants and review and update the HOA budget. They look forward to updating you at the next HOA meeting, planned for December 9. NEXT HOA BOARD MEETING December 9th at 5:30pm in the Development Trailer at the corner of Par One and Del Lago Parkway ANNUAL HOA MEETING 10am February 7th, location to be announced Property Owners are encouraged to attend both meetings.
