Mission del Lago is getting connected! For the first time, new homes in this fast-growing San Antonio master-planned community will present Lennar Smart Home, featuring the world's first Wi-Fi CERTIFIED™ Smart Home Designs with Amazon Alexa built in.

Lennar rolled out the Wi-Fi CERTIFIED Home Design program “to enable seamless voice control, shopping, and home automation,” last year in select markets. All new Mission del Lago homes from Lennar will now feature this technology as part of their popular “Everything's Included” program, which builds in an abundance of upgraded features at no additional cost.

“Lennar's Wi-Fi CERTIFIED home designs are powered by Ruckus Wireless to provide coverage in every room with no dead spots,” the builder said in a press release announcing the project. “This allows buyers to control their lights, front door lock and thermostat simply by talking to Amazon Alexa. Wi-Fi CERTIFIED home designs enable today's best smart and streaming products to operate at peak performance and are ready for the future as new technologies come to market.”

Whole house integration takes connectivity up a notch; instead of adding tech features to an already built home, these features will be built into the walls and floors of Lennar’s homes in San Antonio at Mission del Lago. “During the design of Lennar Wi-Fi CERTIFIED home designs, every floorplan is subjected to a rigorous process that includes mapping Wi-Fi signal strength and quality—taking in to consideration building materials and other factors that can affect connectivity,” they said. “That determines the placement of Ruckus Unleashed access points, which are built right into the home during construction.”

In a news story about the Lennar-Amazon partnership, CNBC’s Diana Olick previewed Lennar Smart Home’s capabilities, asking an Alexa placed in the master bathroom about the weather and watching while David Kaiserman, Lennar Ventures President, pressed a single button in the pantry to automatically place an order for paper towels. “You never have to go to grocery store again,” she mused.

Olick also mentioned that Lennar will give buyers access to Alexa services for 90 days with the purchase of a whole smart home; be sure to ask your sales professional at Mission del Lago for program specifics.
