The Medina River Greenway trail expansion has been recently completed, and the trailhead for the Medina River Greenway is in Mission del Lago.
The Medina River Greenway is a breathtaking retreat for those seeking the serenity of the great outdoors yet close to downtown San Antonio. The trails offer a wide range of hiking and biking experiences. The terrain is forgiving, including two more aggressive switchbacks with slopes up to 8.3 percent. Trails range from Level One to Level Four Access. Level One trails are handicap accessible. Levels Two, Three, and Four have steep slopes in some areas and are not handicap accessible. Level Four trails are the most difficult. Plants of interest are marked with low wooden markers corresponding to the plants listed under the Plant Key. Sprawling Cypress, Oak and Pecan trees wind along the Medina River, where peaceful scenic beauty abounds.
Guests can access the trail next to the Mission del Lago Golf Clubhouse at 1250 Mission Grande San Antonio, TX 78221.
