Veterans Find a Place in SouthSide San Antonio

The San Antonio Toyota Plant is one of the area’s largest employers and one that is experiencing unprecedented success as demand for the Toyota Tundra outpaces expectations. This is great news for the plant, for Toyota as a whole, and for the thousands of employees at the plant—many of whom are veterans.

A recent feature in the San Antonio Express-News focused on the plant’s veteran workforce and the opportunities that have been provided post-military life.

“The ranks of military veterans keep growing at Toyota Texas,” said the Express-News. “Since 2010, the plant has hired more than 40 veterans to work on its maintenance staff alone. Veterans account for 20 percent of the plant’s skilled maintenance force.” The plant says it “actively recruits veterans for all positions at (Toyota Texas) — both hourly and salaried” in a concerted effort to employ those who have served our country.

Many of the plant’s employees—veterans and non-military alike—have found a home at Mission del Lago, the premier master-planned community on the SouthSide.

Mission del Lago offers an array of spacious homes, well-designed floorplans, modern amenities, and a convenient location close to the plant as well as a host of area hotspots. For those who want to start living in the community quickly, move-in ready homes from D.R. Horton and Lennar Homes offer a unique opportunity to purchase a brand-new home without the wait of construction.
