The San Antonio real estate market chugged along in the first quarter of 2016, continuing to grow in sales and rise in prices.
“The local housing market is still seeing an increase in housing sales, with more than 5,900 homes being sold in the first quarter of 2016. This represents a 10 percent year-over-year rise according to the Multiple Listing Service Report from the San Antonio Board of Realtors (SABOR), which reports on all areas contained within the MLS,” said the Bexar Witness. “The San Antonio area is seen as a vibrant market, but prices overall are affordable in comparison to other large cities in Texas and the nation, industry observers say,” they said. “The average sales price for the first quarter of this year rose 3 percent to $227,971 while the median sales price increased 4 percent to $192,900.”
In Bexar County, quarterly sales were up 13.2 percent, to 4,596 total sales and the average sold price in the county was $217,798, up 3.9 percent over last year.
